A Considered Restoration of a Period Home

This renovation focused on carefully restoring and refining the architectural integrity of a period home, with an emphasis on proportion, detail, and flow. Rather than introducing overt new gestures, the design approach sought to enhance what already existed allowing the home’s original character to lead the outcome.

Key architectural elements were restored throughout the formal living spaces and hallway, with detailed panelling reintroduced to reinforce the home’s original rhythm and sense of arrival. These spaces were treated with restraint, ensuring the restored elements felt cohesive and authentic to the period.

The second phase of the renovation centred on the master suite, where the internal layout was reworked to improve flow and spatial clarity. Drawing inspiration from the proportions and elegance of a Haussmannian apartment in Paris, the room was fully panelled to reinforce balance and scale. A new marble ensuite was introduced, completing the suite with a sense of quiet luxury and permanence.

The result is a home that feels both resolved and respectful where contemporary comfort is achieved through a deep understanding of classical proportion and architectural detail.
